2022 marks the 12th year of the MIT Sloan Asia Business Conference

So much has changed and will continue to change as our world forges newer, faster, and more dynamic connections between and among people, enterprises, and technology. This year, we’ve chosen the theme Globalization 2.0 to explore these new trends and paradigms being set today.

Global trade and industrialization facilitated the rapid growth of Asian economies, from the Asian Tigers of the 1990s to the powerhouse economies of China, India, Indonesia and others today. However, the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the pace of globalization. Global supply chains have been disrupted, healthcare supplies and facilities have been overwhelmed and overworked, and global transportation systems have struggled as in-person interactions have been substituted by virtual means. While the integration of international markets has hardly diminished, the trends and opportunities that globalization presents have and will continue to change. New technology and the strength of technological progress in Asia also presents a new facet of global business and interconnectedness to consider.

What will a new version of globalization look like in Asia and beyond? How will Asian businesses and their partners act in the face of the changing trends in globalization?

Through this student-led event at MIT Sloan, we aim to educate and prepare the next generation of leaders who will span the Eastern and Western hemispheres.
